. . . and it has been a very long time since the last hair how-to, and after a little shopping for next week's trip to new york, all that is left are shoes {perhaps these?}, and the perfect up-do, and if you have been reading for a while, you will know about a love for brigitte bardot-esque hair, and so, a few tips on how to keep things sexy & tousled . . .
[instructions after the jump]

1. let's begin

2. take a section of hair from the crown of your head -- it can be a large section, or a modestly sized, one as pictured

3. if you have a backcombing brush, use it, if not, any fine bristle brush will work; use the brush to backcomb, backcomb, backcomb that section of hair, starting at the middle of your hair and "peeling" back

4. it should begin to look quite frizzy . . .

5. flip it back

6. pat it down a little, if you like & that it's it! add a little black eyeliner and some lipstick and you're set
......................................................................................................
. . . and for a slightly edwardian and more prim & proper variation:

1. backcomb everything like crazy

2. lightly brush the top layer of hair so it's smooth, then twist hair into a little bun and secure with pins

3. pretty, right?
......................................................................................................
. . . and last but not least, the half bouffant:
1. backcomb it
2. then pin it

So beautiful! I swear, no matter how much I back comb or use spray, my hair always falls flat. But your post has inspired me to at least try it again.
Thanks doll,

Wow this is the perfect hairstyle, it looks specially lovely with your hair color! xx
I'm such a fan of the half-bouffant - it's one of my favourite styles.

These hairstyles so remind me of the classic look that Lauren Conrad goes for and you make it look so effortless! I don't have any special events to attend but I will have to try these out :) Thanks!
You are adorable! And os is your hair :).
Happy Monday!
Miki.
Very cute! I love a good Brigitte Bardot inspired hair-do! Thanks for sharing.

Looks so good! I'll try it one on of my 'non-curls' day :)
Thanks for the tutorial. The half-bouffant is my style of choice. I use a mattifying powder, which is really helpful in lifting my thick hair.
Thank you, Roseline, for the glimpses of beautiful things.
Yes I could do all that, but I wouldn't LOOK like that! More like the divine BB now, and strength to her.
You're sooooooo pretty! <3 Love these looks too.
