Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links

Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 07.12.20
@me_and_orla

LAST WEEK, IT RAINED all day on Thursday and Friday, and by Saturday, cabin fever. So we walked in the sun, which finally came out, and joined a festive food stall set up outside the pub down the street where flatbreads, mulled wine, mince pies and caramel shortbread were on the menu. On Saturday night we watched the film, The Nest (Sean Durkin, 2020), a thriller/period drama set in the eighties starring Jude Law. Still processing what I think about it, but on the whole, think I liked it. We also made plans last week, to spend the holidays with family in Scotland, during the time that lockdown restrictions are lifted temporarily for five days over Christmas. The holiday wreath I ordered arrived, filled with blue spruce, sprigs of dried lavender, snow-covered eucalyptus, pine cones, and a Tiffany-blue grosgrain ribbon. It looks beautiful on our glossy white front door. A round fruit cake wrapped in paper and two parkins also arrived, homemade by Paul and Annette in the village of Halifax, West Yorkshire. It’s beginning to feel a little more festive despite the very strange year it’s been.

This week’s links include the Beach Hotel in Odessa; recycled cashmere jumpers and pearl drops for winter days;  decorating for the holidays and much, much more.
