The Avalanches have tagged Denzel CurryTricky and Sampa The Great for the new single “Take Care In Your Dreaming,” released alongside a second single entitled “Music Makes Me High.”

Set to appear on the group’s forthcoming album We Will Always Love You, “Take Care In Your Dreaming” focuses on unrealized dreams and the navigation through life’s unexpected journeys, reminding listeners to be “careful what you wish for.” Meanwhile, “Music Makes Me High” is reminiscent of The Whispers and the filter-house echoes of the late ’70s, elevated by a gospel choir that can be heard subtly singing over the sample.

We Will Always Love You will be the group’s “most song-oriented album yet” and features collaborations with the likes of Blood Orange (“We Will Always Love You”), Rivers Cuomo and Pink Siifu (“Running Red Lights”), Jamie xx, Neneh Cherry and CLYPSO (“Wherever You Go”), and Sananda Maitreya and Vashti Bunyan (“Reflecting Light”).

Stream The Avalanche’s “Take Care In Your Dreaming” with Denzel Curry, Tricky and Sampa The Great above, and listen to “Music Makes Me High” on Spotify and Apple Music below. We Will Always Love You drops December 11.

Dev Hynes‘ Blood Orange and producer 박혜진 Park Hye Jin have linked up to release a new track titled ‘CALL ME (Freestyle)’.

The song features Hynes’ signature vocals over a melody that interpolates Park’s 2018 track ‘Call Me’. An accompanying music video was also released, directed and self-shot by Hynes in early March of this year, as he rides around New York City at night time.

The release of ‘CALL ME (Freestyle)’ follows Park’s second EP ‘How Can I’, which dropped earlier this year.

In a four-star review of the EP, NME said that it “reflects the range of emotions she’s experienced while DJing across the globe”.

“Considering it was made in what now seems like a parallel universe, ‘How Can I’ carries a sense of longing for when everything seemed a little more ‘normal’ in those anticipatory pre-lockdown days where we longed for festival season,” the review reads.

“Irrespective of the permanently changed world it’s now entering, Park Hye Jin’s second solo release demonstrates her confidence to create free from the confines of categorisation.”

As for Blood Orange, he recently appeared on The Avalanches‘ ‘We Will Always Love You‘ which is set to appear on the duo’s forthcoming album of the same name.

Some moments on Slowthai‘s incendiary 2019 debut ‘Nothing Great About Britain’ saw the Northampton rapper take a much-needed breather from being the album’s in-yer-face master of ceremonies. Both the chopped-up sample-heavy ‘Gorgeous’ and ‘Original Pirate Material’-style ‘Toaster’ saw Slowthai reflect on the ups and downs of his tough upbringing, back when “responsibility [was] another chapter“.

It’s fair to say that the 25-year-old will have learned much about responsibility this year, given how his self-described “shameful” behaviour at the NME Awards back in February derailed his 2020 ambitions. Following an apology and a vocalised desire to “learn every single day”, Slowthai has since wisely refocused on his music and today releases ‘feel away’, which is being touted as his first official single since his debut album.

Slowthai has actually already dropped three solo tracks this year: ‘Enemy’, ‘Magic’ and ‘BB (BODYBAG)’, the latter containing a co-writing credit for James Blake and Mount Kimbie‘s Dom Maker, who produced the song. It’s clearly a winning partnership: these artists’ reunion on ‘feel away’ is welcome news indeed.

The song is dedicated to the memory of Slowthai’s baby brother Michael John. “I’m doing everything in my power to live for him and also make him proud,” the rapper wrote in a touching Instagram post yesterday. He added of the new single: “It’s about the doubts we have, whether it be within friendships, your partner or with our family. It’s about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes so you have a better understanding of the situation.”

You already know that you want to hear three of the best, hardest rap veterans in the world on a song together. Black Thought, Pusha T, and Killer Mike are a combined 136 years old, and all three of them have been ripping rap tracks to pieces for decades. On the new song “Good Morning,” all three of them get together and absolutely go nuts, with the help of ace hypeman Swizz Beatz (who pushes the track’s total combined age to 177).

Black Thought, the rapper and co-founder of the Roots, is getting ready to release his new album Streams Of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane And Abel. It’s the latest in his Streams Of Thought series of solo records, in which he teams up with individual producers for one project at a time. Thought recorded the new album with Sean C, of the production duo Sean C & LV and the turntablist crew the X-Ecutioners. Thought debuted some of the EP tracks on a live-from-home Tiny Desk Concert back in April, and we posted the lead single “Thought Vs. Everyone” last month. But “Good Morning” is the song that everyone couldn’t wait to hear.

On “Good Morning,” Sean C co-produces with newcomer Sal Dali and with his old partner LV, while Swizz Beatz crows all over the intro. Black Thought shares the track with his righteous peers Pusha T (formerly of the Clipse) and Killer Mike (formerly of the Dungeon Family, currently of Run The Jewels). All three go in.

Black Thought: “Already infamous, limitless, Getty Images/ Vile temperament — you start shit, we ending it.” Pusha T: “I only do features to keep hitting my mark/ And show you motherfuckers you ain’t good as you thought.” Killer Mike: “Just as soon as the sun rise, the night dies/ You was building pyramids and African empires/ Where pale-skin savages was straight, had light eyes/ Was still eating raw meat and barely could light fires.

MadeinTYO has released a new song called “Money Up,” featuring Toro y Moi. The collaboration comes a year after the latter’s most recent studio album Outer Peace, which featured a sample of MadeinTYO’s “I Want” on the track “New House.” Listen to the duo’s new song below.

Chaz Bear recently linked up with New York producer AceMo under his Les Sins alias for the C’mon Les’ Go EP. This past summer, the producer released an instrumental version of his debut album Causes of This.
