Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links

Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 20.07.20
@wardstrootman

AT THE END of last week we went to Scotland to visit P’s grandmother for the first time in months due to the lockdown. It was wonderful to see her again, as well as neighbours who popped in, but we all continued to keep two meters apart and wore masks to every shop we visited. The day before, we stopped by a charming country pub that we normally visit on cold winter nights just so we can sit by the roaring fire, but this time, in midsummer, we sat outside on their beautiful garden terrace for lunch. In other news, finally managed to pick up pink geraniums for potting indoors after telling you about it in April. Hopefully they will thrive and grow as big as those ones. We’ve also been on a hyper cleaning frenzy lately and steam-cleaned all the carpets (twice) and have been ordering all kinds of organisational things for the cottage and dropping off carloads of things to the charity shops. I’ve also finished another book, becoming so engrossed, I read it in a day (in the moments while not working)  and have moved on to the next. We’ve also been thinking of perhaps spending a few days in London, now that everyone has been escaping the cities for the countryside…

This week’s links include How a History Textbook Would Describe 2020 So Far; delicate illustrations; reusable food packaging and much, much more.
