Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links

Notes from the Weekend & a Few Lovely Links 18.11.19

THIS MORNING, THE entire countryside was covered in a layer of frost—the rooftops, with their wisps of white chimney smoke, the well-manicured hedges in front gardens and each red and fallen leaf on the sidewalks. And on the hills in the distance, a softly rising mist, everything seeming to have slowed down a little, awaiting autumn’s quiet fade into winter. It was beautiful, but it so cold. All around the town, garlands of fairy lights have been strung, and the first Christmas tree has already been erected in the market square. It’s getting to that time of year where it’s much more preferable to stay inside, cosy by the fire with a glass of wine.

This week’s links include Paris by its bridges and Edgar Degas; pretty things for holiday soirées and a cosy recipe for apple crisp; things for the powder room, weekend wear, and much, much more.
