Décor Inspiration: Ven House, an Eighteenth-Century Country House in Somerset

FETHINGS can conjure up the holiday spirit more than a perfectly decorated home and Ven House, the early-Georgian mansion built for a wealthy lawyer (who went bankrupt in the process) in the countryside near the Somerset village of Milborne Port, is exactly that. Designed by the West Country-based architect Nathaniel Ireson, it is now the eighteenth-century house of Studio Indigo founder Mike Fisher, who purchased it from Jasper Conran in 2015. Today, its chandeliers and crown mouldings, ornate fireplaces and painted ceilings are even more spectacular when decorated for the holidays…
