WE FIRST INTRODUCED wicker & rattan to The Shop over three years ago, by way of a simple seagrass market tote, long before wicker became the most coveted material for just about everything. Since then, we’ve added so many more different styles and shapes — circular, basket, Birkin and market, and our current favourite, the Windsor Bamboo Top Handle Wicker Handbag. Like all of our other wicker items, the Windsor is completely handmade by artisans in sunny Spain, about an hour by train outside of the city, past acres of sweet scented orange groves and a castle ruin nestled high in the side of a mountain. Immediately after its arrival only three or so weeks ago, it quickly became a bestseller for reasons that are quite apparent. Utterly chic with its smooth leather flap, gold hardware accents and a top handle made of bamboo, its natural and neutral tones work equally well with a satiny day-to-night dress and espadrilles, as with summer denim at the mercado on a Saturday morning…
