SINCE WE’VE BEEN BACK HOME IN SCOTLAND, the weather has been much as expected — blustery and rainy and a bit chilly. But it has also been perfect for cosy drinks in charming pubs, keeping warm indoors with comfort food such as steak pies and sticky toffee pudding, and also paints a rather romantic picture of the coming winter. And as such, this year, rather than dark moody tones and tartan, we’re dreaming in shades of winter white — ruffled bedding intermingled with tones of cream and silver, tufted sofas with pretty boxwood wreaths, and garlands on mantlepieces alight with with the warm glow of candlelight …
