Playlist 08.11.14 : Five Songs for the Weekend

After a one-week hiatus, we are back with our regular installment of the weekend mix — here is this week’s Playlist. Hope you are having a great weekend. P.

Misun is a Washington, DC-based progressive electronic outfit with a sixties bent. “Superstitions” is the latest release in a run of successful singles for group who will be debuting a full-length album soon.

Marian Hill is an electronic duo from Philadelphia that expertly fuse jazz, blues, R&B and hip hop influences into seamless pop productions. “Got It” is their latest offering.

British soul songstress Nao is back with “Good Girl”, which is taken from her debut EP, So Good. We featured her back in August.

“We Can’t Ever Die” from psyche rock band White Arrows is transformed by an amped up dirty base line in this remix by Vacationer.

Satchmode are an indie dream pop band duo from LA. “Hall & Oats” is a new single from their upcoming EP, Afterglow, set for release in the new year.

Bonus Track : “Low”. We were delighted to see Edinburgh’s own Young Fathers win the prestigious Mercury Music Prize for album of the year with Dead. Young Fathers featured on our very first playlist with the excellent “I Heard”.
