style inspiration : nice & a riviera-chic packing list

There are very few places that evoke chic summer style quite like Nice, with its long palm tree-lined Promenade des Anglais where one can wander all day along the breezy cafés, parasols in pastel shades and crystal clear Mediterranean waters, watching the relaxed sunbathers get that glowing Riviera bronzed look, whilst Le Negresco towers above the seafront, magnificently reminiscing upon its golden age in the 20s.

A short walk away is the charming city centre where cobbled streets and bold-coloured shutters contrast with crisp whites and reflect the laid-back attitude that is perceived along the whole coast of the South of France . . .

Packing for the Nice requires a re-watch of To Catch A Thief starring the epitome of Riviera Glamour — Grace Kelly, and a selection of lace and organza items in shades of ecru, bisque and apricot, where one can feel comfortable in a beautiful sundress, a pair of wedge sandals and of course, some diamond studs . . .

Victoria lives in the south of Spain, having moved there from her native country Ukraine when she was just a child. She finds herself looking up to timeless icons from past decades including Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Katherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn, and longing for sunny afternoons on the French Riviera and walks along the Seine during spring. Always overdressed and dishing out on tailored pieces and shoes – secretly dreaming they were from Dior or Saint Laurent – she dresses for herself rather than others, and would trade breakfast for Vogue or a one way ticket to anywhere beautiful.
