. . . currently, favourite pairs of sequined heels and golden strappy summer sandals are displayed in a glass cabinet {much like this one}, but after happening upon martha stewart living decorating editor, rebecca robertson’s, picture rails as shoe racks, now dreaming up entire dressing rooms with walls lined in beautiful shoes . . .

{p.s.} also adore the idea of using beveled mirrors and a floating shelf to create an entryway console

Soo thankful that I saw this picture. I was so torn over where to put all of my new shoes and this just saved me tons of money because my apartment has tons of molding so now i have a pretty shoe border!
love that shoe rack idea. shoes are too gorgeous to hide away x
Neat shoe rack!! I want one… it beats piling up shoes in my messy wardrobe for sure:)
oh my gosh i love the idea of creating a vanity with the mirrors and floating shelf! i just may do that! so cleverr!
ADORE both of these. I happened upon that first image and have been smitten every since! I wish I had a giant closet to hang my shoes as art that way :) Hugs to you Roseline,
Nancy xo
I too have thoughts of grandeur to have a room with all four walls deliciously decorated with hanging shoes. A girls delight!
Hope your week has been a good one?

I love the idea of making your closet so comfortably chic that you want to just live there.
bronwyn — isn’t a wonderful idea? & yes, always thought the same about picture rails — that they weren’t very versatile — but as it turns out, they most definitely are; also, besides holding pictures, thought they might work for plates in the kitchen or dining room, or even for a perfume display in the bedroom or dressing room . . .

Looks like shoe wallpaper or art. Pretty. =)
Ah, so lovely! I really like the picture rail idea – sometimes they seem like a one-use thing….
