THERE IS A CAROUSEL in the centre of the city, the kind that plays music and has a million pretty twinkling lights. It is my favourite thing at the moment, and there was one (or perhaps more?) in Edinburgh as well, every year around this time. The sudden appearance of such a thing always signals the true start of the holiday season for me and it’s all rather exciting. More and more holiday decorations are emerging everywhere as well–boughs with red ribbon at the post office and wreaths in shop windows, flocked trees in sets of three and glittering banners wishing Bon Nadal! and ¡Feliz Navidad!–and with them, a tangible sense of anticipation in the air. Here at TIG, we’re still at the office a little longer before taking some time off for the holidays and the end of the year. We can’t wait.
