Weekday Wanderlust: A Summer Day in Paris

I love Paris early in the morning. The city is slowly waking up, chairs are starting to line up in front of cafés, streets are smelling of viennoiseries. Le petit-déjeuner is often a pan au raisins.

At midday the city is overwhelming. There’s a great bourdonnement on the streets. I always find a way to escape from la foule — behind the compelling beautiful doors, Parisians are hiding secret gardens, bursting with greenery and quietude.

L’aprèm
is for walking the grand boulevards en passant par immeubles with great architecture, observing the endless vitrines, visiting galleries, vintage shops, and passages always picking up some pretty peonies or pale pink roses on my way home.

Au soir, les quais de Seine
are filled with people enjoying some rosé, the terraces are full to the brim with people laughing and the warm golden rays of light envoûte the city.
