IT IS A BRAND NEW YEAR and we are terribly excited for fresh starts and new adventures. The past year has been one of changes for us, but also one of growth and introspection. We’ll share some of our favourite moments subsequently, but for now, a few highlights include a new city, a new home, new series here at the site (such as this one and this one), a new décor contributor, Louise, who joined us in February, and so much more. At The Shop, we welcomed new vendors and introduced a new line of homeware (with more to come!); and at Belgrave Crescent, we introduced new products to our line-up, including the bestselling Las Salinas Suede Clutch and a new line of footwear, which included these insanely chic Tassel Loafers in Pink Suede.

One of the best things about new years is that they are about looking forward, and here at This Is Glamorous, looking ahead is at the very heart of everything we do. We have more exciting plans for the coming year, including more new vendors at The Shop as well as a new contributor here at TIG. We’re also working on a redesign for The Shop, two years after its launch and we can not wait to show you!

In closing, here are a few thoughts for the year we leave behind, and for the new one that lies ahead: Every year, like many, we try to find some time to watch our favourite festive films. This year, it was Christmas Vacation, Love Actually, and It’s a Wonderful Life. It would be the last that would have the most profound affect on me, despite having seen it many times before, for the story about what life might have been like if we had never lived and all of the many ways we touch the lives of those whose paths cross ours seems particularly poignant, now more than ever. This sentiment is also reflected in these words that had come across by chance this morning:

most importantly love
like it’s the only thing you know how
at the end of the day all this
means nothing
this page
where you’re sitting
your degree
your job
the money
nothing even matters
except the love and human connection
who you loved
and how deeply you loved them
how you touched the people around you
and how much you gave them

Happy New Year! Wishing you love & happiness in 2017, and as ever, thank you for coming along with us on this beautiful adventure …
