01-Guo Pei & Ralph & Russo-This Is Glamorous

Guo Pei and Ralph & Russo

THIS COUTURE COLLECTION OF SLIDES takes a look at both the Guo Pei and Ralph & Russo (above) 2016 runway shows in Paris. The former, Chinese couturier, Guo Pei, is best known as the creator of the now-famous canary yellow gown Rihanna wore to the Met Gala last year, earning the designer a place in the Paris couture line-up this year. Her debut collection did not disappoint, featuring mini dresses in the most lovely shades of peach, palest pink, and aqua, with beautiful details of embroidery, feathers, florals, crystals, beads, bows and tassels.

Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo showcased their stunning signature full-length evening gowns often made of lace and embellished in crystals, favouring retro silhouettes and feathers and sequins, and for extra drama, a bride at the finale, “who required the help of six aides to turn around in a gown with maxi kimono sleeves and a three-meter train, embellished with silver bullion, pearls and crystals.” (WWD) Click through for a few favourite looks from both collections . . .
