Editorial: Gigi Hadid for Vogue UK January 2016
Wednesday 30th December, 2015
…AND GOD CREATED GIGI. She has swept through the fashion industry in full G-force, modelling for everyone from Tom Ford to Victoria’s Secret, while retaining her easygoing personality and girl-next-door image. It is refreshing to find a model who remains down to earth, despite her chameleon-like looks that work just as well for commercial campaigns as they do for high fashion. Her first Vogue UK cover has something very 90s about it, whether it is the A-line skirts paired with double breasted coats and breton striped sweaters, or the simplicity of Patrick Demarchellier’s photography, letting Gigi’s beauty shine through. —Victoria

Victoria lives in the south of Spain, having moved there from her native country Ukraine when she was just a child. She finds herself looking up to timeless icons from past decades including Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Katherine Deneuve and Audrey Hepburn, and longing for sunny afternoons on the French Riviera and walks along the Seine during spring. Always overdressed and dishing out on tailored pieces and shoes – secretly dreaming they were from Dior or Saint Laurent – she dresses for herself rather than others, and would trade breakfast for Vogue or a one way ticket to anywhere beautiful.
