{editor’s letter | back at the office + new year’s reflections}

BACK AT THE OFFICE again, after an unprecedented ten days off, which, for this workaholic, might as well have been a million years; but this holiday was an especially busy one, with out-of-town houseguests and holiday parties, duchesse satin dresses, celebrations and champagne, and at the end of it all, always a good thing to take a little time away for rest and relaxation, for recharging and inspiration, but have missed you so, and it’s so very, very good to be back!

And the past year has been extraordinarily lovely in many ways, but a few favourite moments were the many lovely trips both about Europe and further afield, a tiny glimpse of our place on design*sponge in midsummer, the bicycle rides along the coast and trips to the beach, the castles and countryside drives and the Highlands, and the wonderful addition of two new contributors, Victoria and Marzena, and most of all, the rather exciting launch of newest and greatest adventure, Belgrave Crescent, which has only just begun . . .

Now, from today onward, a brand new month and year for new voyages and adventures—and already, Paris in a week and New York in the spring—and so many things in between, and wherever you may be in your life, in the career of your dreams or still working toward one; in the midst a breakup or recklessly and madly in love; with your soul mate or still searching; in summertime or wintertime or wherever in the world you may be, thank you for coming along, for beginning your mornings here, or ending your evenings, for the coffees together and the champagne—and for the year ahead, always remember to search for beauty wherever you can find it.

Here’s to more beautiful moments together, and hope This Is Glamorous can continue to fill your days with a little romance, and to inspire you as much as you have inspired us.

Happy New Year! The very best for 2014 & always,
Roséline xo

An amazing thing happens when you get honest with yourself and start doing what you love, what makes you happy. Your life literally slows down. You stop wishing for the weekend. You stop merely looking forward to special events. You begin to live in each moment and you start feeling like a human being. You just ride the wave that is life, with this feeling of contentment and joy. You move fluidly, steadily, calm and grateful. A veil is lifted, and a whole new perspective is born.” —Jes Allen
