. . . had picked up the latest issue of elle decoration solely for the photograph above, for it encapsulates the situation at this very moment — p has been searching for a vintage hi-fi system, and while do adore the warm sounds of vinyl, had been perplexed about how the components, (and their accompanying and rather large speakers), would fit in with the marble fireplace and crown moulding of the sitting room, and this room is very much inspiration indeed, for with the help of a vase of pink peonies and the glitter of mirrors, have come to the realisation that could possibly hide the system in plain sight . . .

  • This is a lovely setting! My boyfriend is an audio engineer and insists the speakers be set equidistant from each other, angled at the perfect distance from the main sofa… Not the most attractive display, but perhaps I’ll work in some mirrors and flowers and photos to “hide in plain sight…” And the hanging dress is perfect!

  • What a fabulous solution to the yin and yang of audio equipment. My husband is in the audio business and is very much aware of the WAF (wife approval factor). Thanks for the beautiful post and the reminder that where there’s a will there’s a way.

  • i love the idea of hanging the dress on the wall

  • I love this style, its so grand, I wish I had a home like thisxx
