. . . perhaps the very first décor style have ever fallen in love with, may have been shabby chic -- the time-worn pastels, tufted headboards, ruffles and fallen rose petals, the lace and rumpled bed linens, and the pretty dishes on open shelves -- it was all so utterly romantic; and early last year, when we published an interview with rachel ashwell, it was perhaps, one of the loveliest things ever; and still, to this day, find myself quite drawn to the sheer romance of it all, and so, was completely enchanted to happen upon someone who emulated the style so perfectly and completely . . .
