. . . . . . saturday, while p was in/at a sporting event, a part of the afternoon was spent in a beautiful flurry of white lilacs & sterling roses, caramel macarons and stops in quaint coffee and elegant china shops, and in the evening, met up again for films and sushi . . . and on sunday, brunch, of course, [eggs benedict with grilled sourdough and smoked peameal], long city walks in the sun and shops, and in the air, summer’s near arrival in the lilac-laden breezes . . .
