. . . and somehow, we have arrived at this, the last week before christmas, and the past few days have been a flurry of holiday films and egg nog, traipsing through shops in heels with tweed-blazered beau in tow, glass elevators and glittering crystals hung from the highest evergreen boughs . . . and there still gifts to wrap with lengths of silvery lavender velvet ribbon, and soirées to plan and to attend, but for now, it has been lovely to get perfectly lost in the magic of it all . . .
