. . . every year at this time, always and irresistibly drawn to dusky neutrals and rich textures -- exposed ceiling beams and washed floorboards, luxe velvet and stacks upon stacks of firewood, always perfectly paired, of course, with glittering chandeliers; and while always quite adored wicker in the summertime, had not imagined how lovely wicker ottomans and armchairs could be in the colder months, next to fireplaces and perfect for apéritifs on chilly & cozy november nights . . .

{p.s.} more wicker:
* summer to autumn
* paint-dipped baskets
* afternoons in the park & here & here
* breakfast in paris

This is sheer brilliance...I am so in love with this idea. The feeling is almost cabin-like but with added charm and elegance. It is perfectly magical for a beautiful and cozy winter setting.

Your descriptions..."apéritifs on chilly & cozy november nights" just take me away as always.

Thank you for a beautiful start to my November Monday!

Love these images as well, especially the first - the combo of the modern casement window with the metal stair rails and the rustic floor and beams - fabulous. It's the mix that you always nail so well!

Such a glamorous, curved stairway -isn't it? And how sensational is the metalwork and glass on the beautiful candelabra. Gorgeous. It all makes me long for a bit of mulled wine and a dashing companion...

The juxtaposition of the glittery and the rustic is fascinating and makes you want to tour room after room. An interesting concept, wicker in the colder months!
