{summer to autumn: wicker}

. . . nearly time again for transitions, and while the closets are still filled with white and light-as-air summer dresses and strappy sandals, and the heavy blankets are still tucked away, soon there will be soft sweaters and boyfriend blazers -- but for now, still in in love with summer wicker, carefully woven market bags beneath mirrored tables and shell chandeliers in the entryway, warm and rustic dining chairs for sunday brunch, or perfectly stylish baskets and cases with leather fasteners alongside a single ruffled and pooling panel -- and when it's time, pair wicker with stacks of freshly cut wood or vintage wool and mohair blankets to welcome the blustery days of autumn . . .

{p.s.} more autumn inspiration:
* fallen leaves
* countryside picnic
* mustard & gold -- one | two

{also:} more wicker:
* summertime
* paint-dipped baskets
* afternoons in the park & here & here
* breakfast in paris

Inspirational...I love the chandelier in the second pic, and I almost purchased the exact chandelier yesterday in Santa Barbara, California at Anthropology...but I held back because I don't really have the perfect room for it.

Love rustic elegance, elemental, simple, even endearingly gauche... it has to be original or else it looks contrived~

Love that last pic, beautiful. Yup, the scarves are coming out of the closet and this morning was just chilly enough to need one.

The chandelier in the 2nd pic is actually giving me heart palipitations... and the little table beneath it may just finish me off.

I always thought that was a great idea, to extend your cabinets to the ceiling without actually placing cabinets above the lower ones. It's also a great way to save money...and still make the kitchen look good.
:)))))))))

wicker is such a nice transition -- I don't have any! Can you believe? I'm still thinking about that dipped ones, though, and now would love a black bottom dipped one.
