Hope you had a lovely weekend! Have been working on a collection of photographs for a guest post on decor8 for the past little while, and on the way to the beach last Friday afternoon a message arrived that it was up -- had such fun pulling everything together -- all the photographs, with the exception of the Phillip Lim, {which was taken by me}, were taken by the charming BF {happy, happy birthday!}. . . stop by if you like for a few of my favourite things . . .
. . . love in a gilded frame + vintage orange
. . . this weekend is windswept hair and toes in the sand, picnics on the beach and the city behind us . . . ahead: the last golden days of summer . . .

. . . adore vogue espana's softer shades for Fall, with a dash of leopard for contrast . . .

When there's a moment to spend sorting through the abyss that is the closet, often find myself wandering away to do other things -- sometimes difficult to pare down and part with things, infinitely easier to sort through the hundreds of photographs in inspiration folders -- and happened upon these lovely shots of black + white -- the best of both worlds: bright airiness contrasted with bold elegance . . .

“I think I’ve always been a bit of a magazine addict,” says Nadia Barbaro, [Sesame's founder]. “I have a ridiculous collection piling up around the house.” Sesame was born three years ago as a print magazine, but Barbaro was soon swayed by the Web. The heart of the site is, of course, Australian fashion, and twice a year, Barbaro plucks the best local designers, artists, and musicians to feature in gorgeous fashion spreads. “It’s pretty girly,” says Barbaro, “Doesn’t every girl want her own magazine?” -- excerpt: Jamie Cooke for Nylon magazine
. . . and to be included in the magazine's Blogs We ♥ category along Lucy from The Design Files and the always fun and fashionable Susanna from Style Bubble; thanks so much to Nadia for being so cool despite my answers arriving nearly too late . . .

Lately have been considering adventurous animal prints such as leopard and cheetah as accents, such as throw cushions and especially when mixed with crisp whites and feminine florals . . .
. . . or on the floor, perfectly paired with white trim and seagrass walls
. . . perhaps even a few fun Fall fashion accessories:
A perfectly lovely idea: a slim and structured paper bag that can expand to hold more things . . .
A little uninspired one morning last week and the only thing to do was spend the rest of the afternoon on the water . . .
. . . always obsessed with and inspired by the layouts in Vogue Paris for as long as can remember, and lately with this one is particular, with its varying shades of blue, ultra-thin gold belts, patent leather ankle boots, nautical stripes, and -- best of all -- the always classic crested blazer-- things are looking up for Fall
If you're still a little uncertain about shades of charcoal sweeping across the walls . . . a comparison: two similar rooms, one crisp + nautical, and the other, dramatic + modern . . .
Lovely new things for Fall at Loeffler Randall and it's all cream twill and champagne washed satin . . . and to make things even more irresistible, a brand new site for online shopping . . .

May never consider painting the walls a bright orange, but have lately been inexplicably drawn to its sheer vibrancy, at home and in fashion -- perhaps it's the coming change in seasons or the creativity the colour is thought to bring . . . or it may just be the promise of the beautiful things that arrive in those lovely orange boxes . . .
Hermès orange and a framed 1950s fashion photograph are the perfect compliment to a Louis XVI gilt console
