. . . can hardly contain the excitement of decorating for the holidays, and every year, a new colour theme -- seafoam & silver, champagne & gold and everything all aglow, or the frostiest shades of blue mixed with shimmery shades of tinsel. . . and this year, of course, smokey lavender & the palest gold . . .{p.s.} happy december!

I LOVE your blog. Been silent reader for ages.keep it up!
love Love LOVE this post and that color! I want those purple-striped walls
loving the lavender.
these are the exact colours i used in my living room this autumn! but now i've done my christmas/winter decorating... i'm doing a new colour scheme each year, too - this year, it's inspired by nature in winter. lots of white, some pale blue and naturals, weathered wood and a few tiny splashes of red - like red berries partly covered in ice and snow.
truly stunning - your sense of colour is superb
My spare room (soon to be nursery) is lavender (it was so when we bought the house)...it used to be my favourite colour...these are so gorgeous...and LOVE that strapless dress with the sash under the bust, so beautiful!

Lavender is such a soft colour. So gorgeous. I don't think I could ever decorate my entire house with lavender, but a few sections here and there would be beautifully floral.

Lavender has always had a special place in my heart. It reminds me of a hopefully impending trip to study art in the south of France in Lacoste. The lavender fields are what I dream of. Therefore, whenever I smell the fragrance of a lavender bloom or gaze upon its smoky, mysteriously romantic hue. It takes me away into my dreams again.
The dusty lavender and pale violet hues in these photographs are so alluring. I also love the faded blush - and the enormous satin rose corsages are making me swoon. There is something spectacular about ice with faded petals.
Beautiful start to the day. I can't wait to see what you will bring us this season. Anticipation and delight!

Beautiful color palette- love lavender! That canopy bed is amazing :)
*sigh* I love lavender rooms so much that I quite selfishly want the color all to myself. I want to paint my living room lavender and have friends visit and exclaim, "how original!" instead of "how trendy!"
I am hoping I will still love this after the trend fades... but I hoped that about cowboy boots too!
Such beautiful photos...and really great ideas for decorating my studio! :-)
What a coincidence, my bedroom colour is exactly like the bedroom with two windows! Lovely shades of lavender. I was thinking of painting a new colour, maybe some earthy tones such as beige, dark brown combinations or even sage..but came across this article I guess lavender is pretty charming colour. I think I shall halt the idea of repainting my bedroom with a new colour. I think I'm gonna add white furnitures against lavender. And off white sheer day curtain for the window. Is it lovely?
oh wow. it's been a while but i still continue to get inspired and fall in love w/ your site/blog everytime :)
Such a great blog. I absolutely adore it. I love the sense of interior design that you seem to capture in your photos. Maybe you could help me do a special interior design post for my blog, and I could help you out too? Check out my site, http://ashleyp10oda.edublogs.org/. Really great stuff. Thanks for putting this out in the web:)
Beautiful lavenders! I really like that first one. The color combination in the one with paneled walls is so pretty together.
i've been a bit obsessed with shades of this for about 6 months.
love it
Just beautiful! We are trying out the 'pink' theme this Christmas: http://www.cricketwife.com/2009/12/cricket-familys-pink-christmas.html
