May never consider painting the walls a bright orange, but have lately been inexplicably drawn to its sheer vibrancy, at home and in fashion -- perhaps it's the coming change in seasons or the creativity the colour is thought to bring . . . or it may just be the promise of the beautiful things that arrive in those lovely orange boxes . . .
Hermès orange and a framed 1950s fashion photograph are the perfect compliment to a Louis XVI gilt console

I'm not a fan of orange at all, but that picture from House Beautiful magazine is what I imagine of using orange as a small accent. Great blog.
XOXO Shannon
I love the middle picture.
Hermes is the best when you need a splash of vivid orange chic. :)
That bag is lovelly
Lovely, especially second pic!
Love this! Everyone's all about little touches of bright colours lately.
hermes orange is such a vibrating color! that console is to die for! xo
Orange is a tricky color... sometimes I can't stand it, then I love it. I think it's just difficult to use/wear/decorate with and get it right. These pictures all got it right for sure.
I love orange, what's not to love about a Hermes box. I just bought tons of orange velvet poinsettas that are incredible so guess I am having a orange wrapped Christmas.
I adore orange. When done right, it looks so rich and inviting.
I love that Mark Shaw photograph..He is one of my favorite..I would love to collect them all! By the way..what came in that lovely Heremes box? Hmmmm???
I love the orange and brown!
Hi
Always loved the Hermes orange box.
My mother used to buy the scarfs when I was a kid, and I always asked to get the boxes.
Love your blog, will put it up on my blog-roll.
Sweetpaul
Love the fashion photography in the home.
Orange is my favorite color (if I'm using color, that is). I find that even people who hate orange don't mind it in the form of Hermes!
orange is such a bright color, it can jazz up someone's day! love your blog
I like orange in small doses!
A Gift Wrapped Life – an orange wrapped Christmas sounds like fun
Mimi – isn’t Mark Shaw’s work amazing? And the lovely orange box held an even lovelier silk scarf :)
Sweet Paul – The boxes must have been such fun when you were little! Thanks so much for the lovely comment
Shannon, Indy Jimenez – thank you! – always wonderful to have new visitors
Love the bag ! Orange so fresh
I love the warmth and vibrance of the color. I love the second photo!
The Hermes Orange is such a gorgeously bright color, love it!
J'adore this post! LOVE LOVE LOVE the fashion photo and Hermès ornage is DIVINE... I wish I owned a Kelly bag... le sigh... I fear I NEVER will... but a girl can dream!
love that table setup!
I think we're going to see so much of this gorgeous shade, come Autumn. I just adore it.
And hey, why not paint the walls with it?
Cheers.
Her name was Lola -- completely -- hermès orange will be amazing in autumn, and since it's a colour that's supposed to promote creativity, perhaps a study wall might be a lovely idea?
I think it would be lovely for an accent wall...
not a big fan of orange...but i'll never say no to that box filled with fantabulous goodies :)
I'm with you on not painting the walls! Orange can be difficult because you want it to glow like the items in these photos - but you might as well end up with a wall that's too much 70's, but still flat. But I think I'd like an orange painting or photo on my wall!
