{sentimental}

Being hopelessly sentimental can sometimes result in clutter and always means searching for inspirational storage ideas . . .

. . . wicker baskets beneath the bed are ideal for keeping extra blankets, bed linens and winter sweaters

. . . a wire basket beneath the coffee table is the perfect place to store beautiful design books

  • I can never seem to store this well, though it does inspire me to try harder. Just too much stuff! And I shouldn’t be saying that at my age, I should be all pared-down by now. Lovely images.

  • great storage ideas and wonderful spaces….what a wonderful frame above those cute letter hooks!

  • the wicker baskets under the bed are fabulous! i have plastic bins (hides my head in shame)

  • I am loving your Dr. Suess quote… and really loving your acceptance of clutter (even if it is “put away!”)

MOST of my house is put away… well, not exactly, but I could use your help!

Have you entered my wedding inspiration board yet? I bet yours would be MORE than fabulous!

  • Oh, I adore the mirror in the last photo!!

  • I use baskets to store many of my kids’ books…we can carry them around the house that way and they get far more book time.

  • That basket is a lovely idea :)

    The first pic is gorgeous!

  • I love that first image!

  • Baskets are the greatest. I seem to always be able to fill them with wonderful collections, as I cannot get rid of much.

  • Your posts are always inspirational!

  • Love the initial hooks.

  • I actually like the look of the photos more than most of the pieces in them… the “hyper-whiteness” of it all. Makes me long for a nap by a pool…. is that just me? LOL. Yes… I’d say spring/summer fever has taken root and all I can think about is lounging poolside with my big sunnies, a ridiculously chic hat and my ‘kini! Come onnnnnn, sunshine!

  • cute… i really want a wicker bag like that! xxxc

  • KarenB – definitely!

blossom – she does – think it’s called “Easy Elegance: Creating a Relaxed, Comfortable and Stylish Home” and looks lovely! Thanks so much for the award – shall check it out immediately

Kelley at My Island Wedding – isn’t the quote lovely? And very true :) No choice but to accept clutter – so very much a part of life . . . As for the wedding inspiration board, sounds positively lovely! Unfortunately heading out of town for the weekend . . . if only there were more hours in a day . . .

A Day That is Dessert – more book time is brilliant :)

Michelle Parks McCourt – thank you so much for the lovely comment!

  • So cute…I especially love the vintage lamps on the nightstands!

  • I know the feeling! I was forced to declutter quite a lot when I moved into a smaller apartment in the town center. It actually felt really, really good… But one always needs storage inspiration, so I loved this post – the first photo is lovely!
