Absentmindedly flipping through past issues of domino awhile ago and came across a favourite vignette {above} in the first ever issue, and was reminded of how beautiful lucite can look when paired with the perfect pieces and accessories . . .
{a lucite console is the perfect complement to a large antique French mirror and weathered floorboards}
{lucite office furniture in a february 2005 versace ad campaign featuring madonna and shot by mario testino; aside: also included, the eames soft pad aluminum group chair}
{lucite bases make these large mirrored coffee and end tables appear as if they are floating . . .}{see also:}

Gorgeous pictures! Lucite sure does make the room look more spacious & light :)
xx
Oh, I really do love lucite! Love how it can cause otherwise cluttered spaces to appear open. That first vignette is lovely.
Oh my! This is very lovely.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous!
Wonderful post! I love Lucite and the images are so pretty. Great for a small room so you can still see the floor and give the illusion of more space :) I love your list of links! Fabulous idea :)

Love the idea of Lucite letters!!! So hot.
Ah, I love lucite and try to have some in every part of the house. That top image inspired me to actually buy that piece which I use as a dresser under a mirror in my bedroom. Love this post!

Domino and I were soulmates from the first time I saw the top image. RIP
Such kwl pics... Not a massive fan of Lucite as I always feel like I'm going to go through them hehe, but that antique mirror is amazing.

love the mirrored sidetable... anybody have an idea who it's from?
great post!
Love Lucite. Would die to have a ghost chair in my apartment. Always, always looks great on floorboards painted white.
Glorious!
Your blog is always so beautiful it nearly kills me. Especially now that I'm buying my first house!
Oh I love lucite!

adore the lucite!!
I adore that top photo. The lucite perfectly frames the haphazard pile of books.
Love that office where Madonna is sitting! Gorgeous!

you KNOW i love me some lucite!! beautiful picks. also - total aside - i really can't stand madonna in ads usually. the louis vuitton ones were well done and she STILL bothered me. but i loved the versace. good call ;)
the black chairs in the 1st photo are stunning.
I loved lucite in the 70's and I'm glad to see it back again. It's so beautiful. Love the desk.
Love mirror tables... This post is so good. Maddonas picture is pure glam...
I never would have thought of using lucite furniture on my own. But seeing it here, I really like it.
the Lucite aside (I adore it, too) Madonna looks amazing in that photo. She's got those big, enormous, gorgeous eyes. Fabulous.
Who knew lucite could look so fabulous. Love these pics. Beautiful post.
While lucite furniture can certainly look beautiful and make a look more spacious, there is a balance that must achieved. Too much lucite and a room can loose character. It should be used to accent another piece such as the middle picture when the lucite table is accentuating the mirror.
i LOVE the top image - it's a bit how my room looks now (lucite mixed with chinoiserie style).
domino started in 2005? it seems so short-lived...it will be missed.

Yum. That second image is absolute perfection. I'm still scheming about how I can get this one client to go for some lucite---totally living vicariously through him!
Everyone's gotta have a little bit of lucite!
OF COURSE....I'm loving Madonna's shot, and i'll take one of those chairs $$$ please.!

LOVE the table. It really adds an element of space
Yor pics are always eye candy!

Totally agree. One of my favourite Australian Vogue Living issues has an article on Pippa Holt's house and she uses one. All her mags are stacked below - its amazing - looks like the magazines are the table. Beautiful post x
I love lucite, especially coffe tables and chairs. One of my favorite pieces ever is a Helena Rubenstein Lucite chair, found in The Paris Apaprtment Boutique (link: http://www.theparisapartment.com/boutique/index.php?p=41)
