Things are beginning to feel festive around here, and few things bring memories of past Christmases flooding back more than artful stacks of freshly chopped wood, row upon row of softly glowing candles, and the intoxicating warmth of sitting by the fire . . .{happy December!}

One of the odd things about living on the opposite side of the world, when the sun starts getting hotter and stronger, thats when we start to feel christmassy.

These pictures have brightened my day! When I woke up this morning I basically had to dig my house out of a snowbank. I had almost forgotten the upside of December.

My husband won't let us light the fire too often...it is gas, and he says it costs a fortune to run it...so I will just content myself with beautiful pictures of fireplaces!
